Manasbal Lake, often called the 'Supreme Gem of all Kashmir Lakes', is the deepest natural lake in Kashmir with a maximum depth of about 13 meters. Located about 30km north of Srinagar in Ganderbal district, this beautiful lake is fed by underground springs, keeping its waters remarkably clean and clear. The lake is surrounded by three villages and is famous for its aquatic life, especially lotus flowers that bloom in July-August. Ancient Mughal gardens, including the Jaroka garden, dot the lake shores. The lake is also an important bird sanctuary, attracting various migratory and resident bird species. Unlike the more touristy Dal Lake, Manasbal offers a peaceful, authentic experience with local charm.
